    The short version

The Job This Image Converter Handles

An image converter turns one picture format into another. Here the whole job runs inside your own tab. So there is no upload, no queue and no waiting room.

Your browser already knows how to read seven formats. It decodes the file, redraws it on a canvas, then writes out the format you asked for. Therefore the picture never travels anywhere.

Visitors usually bring one of three headaches. Either a file will not open somewhere, or it weighs far too much, or a site refuses that format on upload. In short, one converter fixes all three.

Picking a target format is half the job. MDN's guide to image file types compares them without selling you anything.

Seven Formats In, Three Formats Out

The Denwix converter reads seven input formats: PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and SVG. Meanwhile it writes PNG, JPG or WebP, because those three are the ones a browser can genuinely encode.

    Seven formats in, three out.

That gap deserves a plain answer. No browser writes AVIF, GIF or BMP today. So a tool that promises them either ships your file to a server, or it makes you download a large decoder first.

Where An Image Converter Saves The Most Time

Screenshots gain the most. A plain PNG screenshot often runs to several megabytes, yet it carries very little real detail. So the same picture as WebP frequently lands under a tenth of the size.

    Quality and size move together.

Old logos come next. Designers hand over PNG files with a transparent edge, and a form somewhere demands a JPG. Instead of opening an editor, you flatten it here in one pass.

A Word About PSD, TIFF And HEIC

Those three never appear here, and that choice is deliberate. No browser can display them in any form. Rather than pretend otherwise, this page sticks to the formats it can handle without sending your work to a stranger.

    How it works

Converting an Image With Four Clicks

No installer and no Denwix account required. Instead, one screen holds the picker, the settings and the download.

    • 1

      Add your files

Drop them on the panel, or tap it to pick them. Seven formats work, and you can queue a hundred at once.

    • 2

      Choose the output

Set the output to PNG, JPG or WebP. Then the panel updates, and any control that no longer applies quietly steps aside.

    • 3

Adjust it when the job calls for it

Pick a quality level for JPG and WebP output. Also cap the width, or type an exact box, and every picture keeps its own shape.

    • 4

      Convert and download

Press the button and watch each row report its real size. Finally, take one file at a time, or the whole batch as a zip.

    Why this one

    Why Convert Images Here?

Most converters online ask you to upload first. However, that hands your picture to a stranger for a job your own browser finishes in a second.

    • Your files stay put

The script holds no fetch, no form post and no storage. So a client mockup or a private screenshot never reaches a server at all.

    • One page, seven formats

You do not need a different tool for every pair. Instead, choose what comes out, and the same panel handles the rest.

    • See the result first

The preview encodes at your exact settings. Therefore you judge the picture with your eyes, before you commit a single byte.

    • Real numbers, not guesses

Each row prints the bytes that came out against the bytes that went in. Then, if a file ends up bigger, an amber note says so at once.

    • Up to one hundred files per batch

Queue a real batch and convert it in one pass. Then take the lot as a single zip, which this page builds itself, byte by byte.

    • No account, no meter

You never make an account or run into a quota. Because no server does the work, there is nothing to charge for.

    Good habits

Which Output Format Fits Your Picture

Your choice of format matters far more than any slider. The Denwix rule of thumb for picking a format.

    • Photographs: JPG or WebP. Both drop detail your eye will never miss. So a holiday photo lands far smaller than the same picture as a PNG.
    • Logos and screenshots: PNG. Flat colour and sharp text survive intact, because PNG never throws a pixel away.
    • Images with see-through areas: choose PNG or WebP. JPG cannot store transparency in any form. Therefore a cut-out logo needs one of the other two.
    • Smallest file overall: WebP. It usually beats both rivals at the same quality. Meanwhile every current browser shows it without a fallback.
    • Resize before you compress. A 4000px photo shown at 800px carries pixels nobody ever sees. So set the width cap first. Then the format saving lands on a much smaller picture.
    • Keep your originals. Lossy compression runs one way only. Instead, convert a copy, and file the master somewhere safe.
    Worth avoiding

Three Ways To Waste A Conversion

A converted file can still let a page down. Below, Denwix lists the causes it sees most.

    • Uploading pictures to a remote server

Most converters carry your picture away to do the work. So an unreleased design leaves your machine for no good reason.

    • Converting at full resolution

A huge picture stays huge in any format. Therefore capping the width often saves more than the format change itself.

    • Flattening a logo into JPG

The transparent edge turns into a hard rectangle. Instead, keep PNG or WebP whenever the background must disappear.

    Questions

    Image Conversion FAQ

Does the Denwix image converter upload my pictures?

No. The script carries no fetch, no XHR and no form post. Your browser decodes the file, a canvas redraws it, and your browser writes the new one. So the whole job stays inside this tab, and closing it ends everything.

Which formats can this image converter open?

The Denwix converter reads PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and SVG. An animated GIF gives up its first frame only, because a still format has nowhere to put the rest.

Why can I not save as AVIF or GIF?

No browser writes those two. A canvas encodes PNG, JPEG and WebP, and that is the whole list. So offering more would mean uploading your file, which this page will never do.

What happens to see-through areas during conversion?

PNG and WebP keep it exactly as you had it. JPG cannot, so the panel asks which colour should sit behind it instead. White suits most pages, while black suits dark ones.

What is the biggest picture the Denwix converter handles?

Twenty-five megapixels per picture, and a hundred pictures per batch. Because the work runs on your own device, the ceiling is your memory rather than our hardware. So simply run a second batch if you have more.

    Does converting cost me quality?

The answer depends on the target format. PNG keeps every pixel, while JPG and WebP drop detail to save space. Therefore check the preview once before you convert a long queue.
